Should Students Play Games (software) in school? pg. 97
In my opinion, students should be allowed to use software to play educational games in school. Since technology is so prevalent in this age, it is important to reach the students any way we can. Students play all kinds of video and computer games, so teachers should use these avenues to reach their students. I have used Jeopardy, How to Be a Millionaire, Am I Smarter than a Fifth Grader, Family Feud, BINGO, and many other games in my class. The kids really get excited and enjoy learning. Learning should be fun and exciting so if educational games are a way to reach our youth, then schools should allow them. I do agree that certain websites should not be used in a school environment and if a student goes to a particular website then it should be blocked. No longer are the days when you just lectured and gave worksheets and tests.
